Google vehicle travels through Tamaqua

A Mercedes-Benz Smart Car traveling through Tamaqua was used to promote Google search engine's (www.Google.com) 'Street view", in which you are able to "virtually" drive through your town on your computer, seeing real images of your street. In the past, other Google vehicles have driven through your town with domes on the top of the vehicle taking constant photos as it drives. This creates a real-image virtual driving effect when using it with Google's "Street View" online. Currently, only main and larger roads are viewable via Google's "Street View". Although Google's 360 degree "Street View" images are a number of years old, they are still very fun to navigate through online. To try Google's "Street View", go to

www.maps.google.com and drag the orange man over the street you want to see and follow the instructions on the screen.
