A Northampton County man is facing a charge of retail theft following an incident in Monroe County.

State police at Fern Ridge said Francis Cinelli III, of Bangor, was charged after store employees at the Weis Market, located at SR209 and Weir Lake Road, in Chestnuthill Township, allegedly observed him putting items into his pockets and then walking out the front doors without paying for them. He was detained by store personnel until troopers arrived. The incident occurred about 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 17.Cinelli was taken into custody and transported to the county prison in Snydersville troopers said.
