A brief reorganization meeting was held by the Schuylkill County Commissioners Monday morning at the courthouse in Pottsville with Mantura Gallagher re-elected chairperson of the board.

The board adopted dates for 2010 for scheduled public meetings, four on the road public meetings, work sessions, salary board and retirement board and prison board meetings. They also adopted the Robert's Rules of Order and an affirmative action plan.The board will hold its work session meetings at 10 a.m. on the first and third Wednesday of each month in the Hoffman Room, which adjoins the board room in the courthouse, except for the month of May when the work session will be held Thursday, May 20, and for the month of November when the work session will be held Thursday, Nov. 4.The public meetings will be held on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month in the board room at the courthouse, except for the month of August, when the meeting will be held Thursday, Aug. 12.The on-the-road public meetings will be held, March 24 in the Porter Township Municipal Building, Muir; June 9 in the pavilion in Higher-Ups Park at the Ashland Pioneer Tunnel, 19th and Oak streets, Ashland; Sept. 22 at the Sweet Arrow Lake Club House, Pine Grove Township; and Nov. 10 at the Branch Township Municipal Building, Phoenix Park Road, Branch Township.The salary board, which is comprised of the three commissioners and controller, will meet, if necessary, immediately following the public meeting and will hold its work session, if necessary, immediately following the regular scheduled work session.The retirement board, which is comprised of the three commissioners, controller and treasurer, will meet on the second Wednesday of each month immediately following the public commissioners' meeting and will hold its work sessions immediately following the commissioners and salary board work sessions.The prison board, which is comprised of the president judge, three commissioners, controller, district attorney and sheriff, will hold monthly meetings in the commissioners board rooms on Jan. 20, Feb. 17, April 21, May 20, July 14, Aug. 18, Oct. 20 and Nov. 17. It will hold four quarterly meetings in the Schuylkill County Prison Library on March 17, June 16, Sept. 15 and Dec. 22.The first work session of the new year will be held tomorrow in the Hoffman Room at 10 a.m.
