A drug and alcohol testing policy could eventually be implemented in the Palmerton Area School District.

Superintendent Carol Boyce informed the school board on Tuesday that the district may consider an extracurricular drug policy.Boyce said the district will inquire with the Pennsylvania School Boards Association to review samples of similar policies statewide."We also need to find a source of funding," Boyce said. "It was not a budgeted item."Resident Bill Strauch, who last month suggested the district create such a policy, again urged the board in that direction."It's very important," Strauch said.
