A motorcyclist was seriously injured Sunday night in a violent head-on crash with a car along Mill Road in Mahoning Township. The crash occurred just before 9 p.m. north of the intersection with Route 443 at Normal Square. The biker was traveling south on Mill road when he collided with a car that may have been making a left turn into a driveway. The male victim was treated at the scene by members of the Mahoning Valley ambulance and Lehighton paramedics, then flown by a medical transport helicopter to an area trauma center. An elderly woman, possibly the driver of the car, was also transported to an area hospital. Lehighton police investigated the crash due to the Mahoning Township police handling a previous accident. Mahoning Township fire police maintained traffic control at the scene, shutting down the roadway for two hours.
