Two persons were injured in a one-vehicle crash at 11 a.m. Nov. 19 on Route 413 in Polk Township, Monroe County, according to state police at the Lehighton barracks.

Injured were Paige N. Meckes, 17, of Kunkletown, the driver of the vehicle, and Kaitlyn E. Tworkowsky, 15, also of Kunkletown and a passenger. Police said the severity of their injuries was unknown. A second passenger, Chaz Chieffo, 16, of Palmerton, was uninjured.Police said Meckes was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier west on the road at a high rate of speed and attempted to negotiate a right curve when she lost control of the vehicle. It fishtailed, spun 180 degrees, exited the roadway and flipped approximately four or more times before coming to rest on its roof in a field.Police said the driver will be charged.The West End ambulance responded and transferred the victims to the Pocono Hospital, East Stroudsburg.
