A Tamaqua man has been cited after police were called to his residence twice on Tuesday for domestic incidents.
The first call came in at 8 p.m. Officers were dispatched to 66 Bowe St., Tamaqua, and met with Jennifer Lee Smith, 26. According to the complaint, Blaine Smith, 28, same address, had been involved with an argument with his wife concerning an appropriate bed time for his two young children. He allegedly grabbed her shoulders, shoved her and pinned her to the ground. Able to free herself, Mrs. Smith dialed 9-1-1. Blaine Smith then left the residence, accompanied by the children.Approximately three hours later, officers were again dispatched to the residence. Both Smiths were on the front steps of the residence. The husband appeared to be in a highly intoxicated state, arguing with his wife and police. When Smith repeatedly threatened to take his children and leave by vehicle, officers took him into custody.He was transported to the station and placed in a cell block until being released into the custody of his mother.Smith was cited for disorderly conduct, harassment and public drunkenness.
