Lehighton is getting a new, major downtown shopping center. An agreement was signed by the Patron & Winters Development Compnay of Miami, Fla. for the purchase of a tract of land owned by the Kovatch Corporation along Route 209 at the Lehighton and Mahoning Township border. Gina Shashaty, a corporate vice president with Patron & Winters, said, "It will be a major shopping center," but couldn't provide additional details.
