Three Kittatinny District "scouters" and the borough of Palmerton received recognition for their service to Boy Scouting at the Lehigh Council Scouters' Appreciation Dinner in Allentown. Palmerton scouter John Appleton, was among five recipients of the Silver Beaver award for "distinguished service" to Boy Scouting. Service to Scouting statuettes were awarded to James Ord of Palmerton and Stanley Fenstermacher of New Tripoli. Palmerton Borough received a certificate of recognition.
