Four area residents among 42 placed in probation program

Four area residents were among 42 who were qualified by Schuylkill County District Attorney James P. Goodman to be placed in the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) probation program, which is reserved for first offenders in non-violent crimes to allow them to clear their record.

President Judge William E. Baldwin admitted them into the program and imposed the following conditions. All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Josiah D. Algard, 211, of 23 Municipal Road, New Ringgold, who was charged by Patrolman Anthony Stanell, Tamaqua police, with possession of a small amount marijuana and drug paraphernalia when stopped in the 600 block on Arlington Street, was assessed $350 to defray cost of the program. pay $100 to the Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund, and $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab.Robert Lee Davenport, 25, of 409 W. Broad St., Tamaqua, charged by Patrolman Karl Harig, Tamaqua police, with criminal mischief, pay $50 to CJEA, and restitution of $855.63 to victim.Shannon Fredericks, 29, of 307 Race St., Tamaqua, charged by state inspector general's office with violation of public welfare code, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and make restitution of $2,526.50 to Department of Public Welfare.John A. Hoffman Jr., 54, of 2339 West Penn Pike, New Ringgold, charged by Officer Melissa Johnson with driving under the influence (DUI) was assessed $500, $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund; enroll in Group Intervention Program and attend alcohol highway safe driving school, make restitution of $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, perform 10 hours community service and driver's license is suspended 60 days.Nathan Karl Fisher, 22, of 207 Royer Street, New Philadelphia, charged with DUI, pay $500 assessment, $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, receiving outpatient counseling and enroll in alcohol highway safety school, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 60 days.Anthony Lee Flemister, 18, Harrisburg, charged by Trooper John Petrone II with possessing a stolen license plate when stopped on Interstate 81 was assessed $350, pay $50 to CJEA fund and on a summary charge of driving without a license fined $200 and driving an unregistered vehicle fined $75 plus $100 costs.Patrick C. Agresto, Frackville, charged with failure to carry workmen's compensation insurance for workers of Old World Cheesecake Company Inc., was assessed $350 for program and pay $50 to CJEA fund. It was reported he had paid restitution in full amount.Shannon Leigh Azbell, 39, Pottsville, charged with DUI was assessed $500 for program, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, receive outpatient substance abuse counseling and mental health evaluation, make restitution of $60 to Schuylkill Medical Lab, perform 10 hours of community service and license suspended 60 days. He was cited by Pottsville police.Jessica Lynn Baucum, 22, Pottsville, charged with selling or furnishing alcohol beverages to minors, was ordered to pay a $350 assessment and $50 to CJEA fund.Thomas Edward Bruno, 22, Pottsville, charged with criminal mischief to an apartment unit was assessed $350, pay $50 to CJEA and $850 in restitution to Market Square Limited, owners of the apartment at 12th and West Market streets.Joseph James Church III, 34, of Berwick, charged by Patrolman Eugene M. Yourey, Pottsville police, with possession of a controlled substance, was assessed $350, pay $50 to CJEA fund, $100 to SAE fund and make restitution of $176 to Bethlehem Regional Lab.Michael L. Cook, 37, Pottsville, charged with DUI was assessed $500, $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, receive outpatient counseling and continue with mental health treatment, pay $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 60 days.Matthew J. Corbacio, 25, Ashland, charged with retail theft, was ordered to pay $350 assessment and $50 to CJEA fund. Ashland police charged he stole a deodorant spray valued at $16 from Rite Aid Pharmacy.Anthony Corotto, 22, Pottsville, charged with DUI was assessed $500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, enroll in Group Intervention Program, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 60 days.Alexander Cox, 24, Good Springs, Tremont Township, charged with DUI was assessed $500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 60 days. On a summary charge of failing to drive at a safe speed fined $25 plus $50 costs.Paul Michael Glennon, 33, Sugarloaf, Luzerne County, charged with DUI in McAdoo, was $500 assessment, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend alcohol highway safe driving school and receive outpatient counseling and perform 10 hours community service. His license is suspended 60 days.Sharon Diane Hamby, 23, Pottsville, on a charge of making a false report to police assessed $350 and pay $50 to CJEA fund.Tina Marie Heim, 42, Ringtown, charged with DUI when stopped on SR924 in East Union Township, was assessed $500, $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 30 days. McDonald, 25, Minersville, on a DUI charge was assessed $500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 60 days.Marie A. McElhenny, 29, Mahanoy City, on a DUI charge, was assessed $500, $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, receive outpatient substance abuse counseling, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 60 days. On a summary charge of failing to have car lights on during required period fined $25 plus $50 costs.Shawn F. McElhenny Jr., 28, Mahanoy City, charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia was assessed $350, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab.Tonya Metz, 34, Schuylkill Haven, charged with violating the public welfare code was assessed $350, pay $50 to CJEA fund and make restitution of $20,935.65 to Department of Public Welfare.Joshua Joseph Schultz, 22, Llewellyn, Branch Township, charged with fleeing Reilly Township Police, was assessed $350 and pay $50 to CJEA fund.Dylan Anthony Smith, 22, Minersville, charged with DUI was assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab, undergo outpatient substance abuse counseling, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 60 days.Jonas Charles Smith III, 32, Ashland, charged with DUI, was assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $60 to CJEA fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 60 days. On a summary charge of failing to drive on right side of road fined $25 plus $50 costs.Kory Charles Stencovage, 41, Pottsville, charged with DUI, was assessed $500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, enroll in Group Intervention Program, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 60 days. He also must make restitution of $1,475 to Shirley Smerlick and $800 to Elsie Shive. On a summary charge of failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic was fined $25 plus $50 costs.Elizabeth A. Treshock, 24, Frackville, theft of Iphone, was assessed $350 and pay $50 to CJEA fund.Each must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
