The Joint Operating Committee of the Carbon Career & Technical Institute met Thursday night to discuss, among other things, the hiring of several key personnel. The board unanimously approved the hiring of four additional staff members.

The board voted to hire Rebecca Schaeffer as the school nurse on the step one pro-rated salary of $35,000 effective November 2, 2009. Adrienne Bonner was approved as a substitute teacher for the remainder of the current school year. Sharon Shealer and Christina Graver were appointed Records Retention Officers for CCTI for the 2009-2010 school year.The current CCTI Education Association Agreement of a 2009-2010 salary is based upon a 186 day work schedule. The pro-rated salary for Mrs. Schaeffer will be figured on 137 work days. Mrs. Schaeffer was previously appointed at the committee's October meeting.The four new members of the staff will fill current vacancies within Carbon Career & Technical Institute.
