Sharing memories with the younger generation on Veterans Day

Some of the 7th grade Student Council members from Pleasant Valley Intermediate School visited Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Homes/Chestnut Ridge on Veterans Day. They sang patriotic songs and gave each of the eight veterans present a card with over 1,200 signatures from all the PVI students and staff. They brought along cookies and brownies to share with the veterans and other residents and visited with each of the veterans, like Victoria Wilson and Caroline Rozwadowski did with Pastor Frank Robatin, a veteran that served in the Army in World War II. The other veterans present were: Sam Close, Navy, WWII; Chester Draves, Merchant Marines/Army, WWII/Korean; Raymond Theis, Marines, WWII; Burt Zimmerman, Air Force, WWII; Daniel Pearson, Army, WWII; Murray Malin, Air Force, WWII. Alex Giaquinto of Country View Home was in the Army, WWII.
