No injuries occurred, but both cars were heavily damaged in a near head-on crash Friday night on Route 209 in Summit Hill.

Both cars were impacted on their front driver-side quarter panels, with the collision potent enough to tear the wheel from one of the vehicles.The crash happened atop Bugzie's Hill at about 11:20 p.m.Timothy Holderman, 18, of Lower Nis Hollow Dr., Lehighton, was westbound on Route 902. Police said he told them he tried getting something on the floor and crossed the center line of the two-lane roadway.This resulted in the accident with the car operated by Karen Reehl of Summit Hill, who was eastbound.Police said a charge of careless driving will be filed against Holderman.Both cars had to be towed from the scene, with the front, left wheel and spring torn off the Reehl vehicle, and coming to rest about 15 feet down the road from her car.Summit Hill Police are investigating. They were assisted at the scene by Summit Hill fire police.
