The search for Sharon Weaver, 55, of Weissport is continuing.

Weaver has been missing for more than a week. Weaver was last seen sometime between 6:30 and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, leaving the Boathouse Bar, which is located across the street from the Lehigh Canal Park.She had been with her boyfriend, Richard (Sonny) Kern for about an hour, where Weaver had stopped by to see her friend, Kim Everett, who is the bartender. Weaver had a few beers and left for home about 20 minutes before her boyfriend, but when he arrived home, she wasn't there and hasn't been seen since.Kern said he wasn't sure if Weaver would have walked along Canal Road or if she walked over the trestle to reach home.Everett, a long time friend of Weaver's, said that she spoke with State Police at Lehighton on Wednesday and they said that none of the leads given to police have led to her recovery."We were up and down the banks of the trestle area for a four hour search with about 20 people on Wednesday," said Everett. "The group was made of all friends and family doing the searching." Everett said that the group searched the canal area, the trestle area of the Lehigh River and the town of Weissport. Everett said that the group walked up and down the banks and people picked up cardboard and other things and whenever they saw a bump in the water, they poked with a stick, but there was nothing there."She isn't in the canal area or Weissport, that is for sure," said Everett. "We searched and made the sweep ourselves."Everett said about 12 women from the Brodheadsville Legion did the same thing on Monday.She also noted that the people from Pocono White Water have also been looking in the Lehigh River while on their expeditionsEverett said that police are going to be talking to Weaver's family today."Police have told us that today they are bringing in a reputable psychic," she said.Weaver lived with Kern in Weissport.The parking lot of the The Boathouse is along side of the Lehigh Canal Park. A chain-link fence separates the parking area from the canal.Weaver has missed taking her medication for epilepsy and high blood pressure since she has gone missing.Weaver is five feet one inch tall and weighs about 210 lbs. She had short blonde hair.
