Driver cited for DUI after hit/run crash

A Monroe County driver was cited for driving under the influence (DUI) following a hit and run accident that occurred on Sunday, Oct. 11, along SR196 between Kings Way and Renaissance Lane, in Tobyhanna.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers were dispatched to the above stated location about 5:55 p.m. to a hit and run accident. En route officers were advised the driver of the hit and run vehicle fled the scene on foot after his vehicle became disabled due to a flat tire.A foot and search by patrol units ensued and a man was found walking along 196 near Echo Lake wearing no shoes and covered in mud. The man was identified as Louis M. Molino, 27, of 9860 Deerwood Terrace, Tobyhanna. While speaking with Molino officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Molino, who was injured, was taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for treatment and a blood draw.Police also learned after the crash Molino attempted to turn around at 32 McNamara Lane and pulled into the front yard of the property of Karen Nicolosi and caused damages to her lawn.Officers contacted the other driver involved, Tina Sibilia, of 4055 Briarwood Drive, Tobyhanna, who told them Molino's vehicle crossed the center line and collided into her vehicle then fled.Molino is facing charges of DUI, reckless driving, accidents involving damage to attended vehicle or property, immediate notice of accident to police, and accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle or property
