Tamaqua man goes on trial on drug counts

A Tamaqua man charged with trafficing in drugs went on trial before a jury this morning in Schuylkill County court and trials began for three other criminal cases as the September term of criminal court got underway.

Raymond William Yocum, 53, of 35 Pine St., Tamaqua, has been charged by Sgt. Richard Weaver, Tamaqua police, with delivery of a controlled substance, and two counts each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. He was cited on June 26, 2008. Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin is the trial judge.Michael Seth Jenkins, 29, 485 W. Spring St., Frackville, went on trial on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and recklessly endangering another person as charged by Officer Michelle Ashman, Frackville police. Judge D. Michael Stine is the trial judge.Michael Thomas Kane, 24, Pottsville, went on trial on charges of burglary of a home, criminal conspiracy, simple assault, theft and two counts of robbery as charged by Patrolman Richard J. Pugh, Pottsville police. Judge Jacqueline Russell is the trial judge.Joseph Chimahosky, 215 Germansville Rd., Butler Township, went on trial on charges of driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, driving while his operating privileges were suspended and failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic as charged by Sgt. Eric Vinskie, Butler Township Police. Judge John E. Domalakes is the trial judge.
