Knowing what's coming and being able to stop it are two totally different things.

Salisbury knew what Northern Lehigh would do Friday night. But it couldn't stop the Bulldogs from doing it in a 41-14 win on Homecoming night in Slatington.The Bulldogs ran the ball for 432 yards and made big play after big play in their running game."They were able to get the edge on us," said Salisbury head coach Rob Sawicki. "All week long we preached that. We knew they were going to come out and run the edge. They did a great job. They were physical up front. They came out and executed."Three different Northern Lehigh players scored on long runs as it built a 21-0 first-half lead.Quarterback Tyler Bolton went 40 yards to cap a 4-play opening drive and make it 7-0 just 2:06 into the game.Cody Remaley went 75 yards as Northern Lehigh needed just two plays on its second drive to go ahead 14-0 with 2:57 left in the first quarter.Jake Kern ran 41 yards for the Bulldogs' third score. That drive lasted three plays and put them ahead 21-0 with 5:28 left in the first half."It's definitely the most explosive game we've had," said Remaley, who ran for 191 yards on 17 carries. "Tonight we just blew them open right away.""Steve Hluschak runs our offense," said Northern Lehigh head coach Joe Tout. "I thought he did a great job tonight. We saw some things we thought would be there. We didn't realize it was going to be that quick though."Salisbury put together two long drives in the first half, but the Northern Lehigh defense, which spent a lot of time on the field in the first half, didn't let the Falcons on the board until their fifth possession.Falcon quarterback Justin Todora, who was 0 for 8 with two interceptions before the Falcons' final drive of the first half, found Tony David for a 20-yard touchdown pass with no time left on the first-half clock to make it 21-7 at half."We went in at half and got the music playing again and got fired up," Remaley said. "We said its nothing-nothing lets come out and score some more points and we did."After picking off a Todora pass early in the third quarter, the Bulldogs put together their longest drive of the night, 10-plays that took them 78 yards capped by Remaley's 2-yard touchdown run.Kern (106 yards on four carries) added a second touchdown on a 58-yard run with 1:46 left in the third quarter to put Northern Lehigh up 35-7.Tout put most of his second-team players in after that. Salisbury added a late touchdown, a 24-yard pass from Todora to Jake Kovach.Northern Lehigh's Kyle Schomp finished off the scoring with a 63-yard touchdown run with 3:11 left in the game.The Bulldogs averaged 11.4 yards per carry in the game as they didn't punt for the first time until the fourth quarter."The linemen stayed on their blocks," Remaley said. "I couldn't ask for a better line and fullback."
