Tamaqua Ambulance conducts membership drive

Published November 05. 2009 05:00PM

The Tamaqua Community Ambulance Association is conducting its annual membership drive. Subscription information has been mailed to all residents within the Tamaqua Area School District.

The dedicated volunteers provide emergency care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, allowing for a timely response to calls for help. The association has three state of the art basic life support ambulances, a wheel chair van and an off road unit.

The TCAA Inc. is a licensed emergency service certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Certification indicates that the TCAA Inc. meets or exceeds all standards for ambulance services as provided by the Emergency Services Act.

Subscribers are entitled to emergency medical service to numerous hospitals within the coverge area. Even though the association reserves the right to bill any third party insurance carrier, subscribers are not held liable for costs incurred above what the insurance carrier pays. Subscription categories include: senior citizen, for single individuals over the age of 65; individual memberships for those ages 18 to 65; and household - for families or couples with adult children still living at home. Costs remain the same as last year and have been held steady for the past several years.

The association also offers CPR courses, community activity coverage; tours and demonstrations and BLS transports.

For further information, or to volunteer, call (570) 668-3342, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
