Aggressive driving being targeted

Carbon County Aggressive Driving Departments will be joining police to conduct targeted Joint Aggressive Driving Enforcement during the second wave, which began on July 7 and will continue until Aug. 31. Departments include Weatherly, Beaver Meadows, Jim Thorpe, Nesquehoning, Lehighton, Franklin Township, Kidder Township and Mahoning Township. The enforcement focuses on behaviors such as speeding, tailgating and running red lights. Any aggressive driver stopped by police will receive a ticket. Enforcement locations include Routes 443, 248, 93, 903, 534, 209, 54, 4006, 4010 and Interstate 80. The enforcement is part of the Pennsylvania Aggressive Driving Enforcement and Education Project and is funded in part by PennDOT. For more information, visit
