The Kidder Township EAC held its monthly meeting Wednesday evening. The discussion centered on the recent spring workshop, which took place the second Saturday in May. It was the seventh annual event.

"The workshop was very successful," said council Chairman Frank Gilotti."We can't wait to come up with an even more exciting program for next year. We want to thank the community for their support and the presenters as well."This year presenters included Susan Gallagher, chief naturalist at the Carbon County Environmental Education Center, who spent more than an hour on the topic of locally found birds of prey. The second session, presented by Slate Altenburg of the Penn State Master Gardeners, was about making maple syrup. Altenburg provided a PowerPoint presentation as well as examples of the materials needed to gather and make maple syrup. At Wednesday's meeting the EAC also discussed the status of a number of ongoing projects, including the multiuse trails, the landmark inventory and the mussel recovery project.Meetings are always held on the second Wednesday of the month at the Kidder Township building on Lake Drive in Lake Harmony.
