A landlord-tenant dispute in Nesquehoning led to the arrest of the landlord for firearm and related charges.

Police said on July 15 Officer Dane O'Brien responded to the unit block of W. Mill Street. for a report of a male threatening to shoot someone with a gun. On scene he made contact with Gregory Ward. After further investigation, Ward advised O'Brien that his girlfriend, Erica Harrision, had gotten into a verbal argument over personal issues in his apartment that he rents from Daniel Lain. Ward told the officer during the course of the argument with Harrison, Lain abruptly opened the door and allegedly pointed a firearm at Ward. Ward stated that there was a brief altercation between him and Lain that resulted in one shot being fired at him by Lain.

With the assistance of police from Jim Thorpe and Lansford, Lain was located. Lain admitted pointing the firearm at Ward and out of fear of bodily injury to Harrison. Lain also stated he did discharge his firearm druing the course of the altercation.

Lain was charged with discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, recklessly endangering another person, and simple assault.

Police added that Ward was charged with harassment as a result of the incident.
