Was justice served?

Letter to the Editor:

A few days after the verdict was reached by the jurors concerning the case of George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin, which grew national attention, I again read, heard and saw the evidence on both sides through various media.Considering the computer simulations of the incident, forensics, medical reports, DNA, pathology reports, and the trauma injuries to the face and head, I think George Zimmerman is lucky to be alive. He could have easily suffered a subdural hematoma (a bleed to the brain) that could have left him comatose or dead.It is a tragedy that Mr. Trayvon Martin died, and the grief that his family is going through. There was mass protesting and sporadic violence after the verdict "Not Guilty."According to recent law enforcement reports, there has been an increasing rise in burglaries, robberies and home invasions, some resulting in injury or death to the home residents.Law enforcement will do surveillance in areas of reported suspicious activity involving home invasions or break-ins to protect the health, safety and welfare of the people. The jury reached their verdict "Not Guilty" beyond a reasonable doubt, self defense. I think some of the students protesting at a Pennsylvania University just don't have all the facts.Sincerely,Larry ConsoliSummit Hill
