George C. Poshefko, Nesquehoning, was killed in action in defense of his country, according to a telegraph sent by the War Department to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Poshefko, of West Catawissa Street. His death occurred in the South Pacific theatre of war on Jan. 10. The young man enlisted Oct. 3, 1936 and volunteered for foreign service and saw action at Honolulu in the Pearl Harbor attack.
