ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS The addition of traffic lights at the Mauch Chunk Street and Pine Street (SR309) intersection in Tamaqua has turned the intersection into a five points intersection. The lights were added by PennDOT recently to allow traffic to safely enter and exit Hess Windows and Tamaqua Tabacco Outlet. The new traffic lights, placed on the sidewalk adjacent to the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, are triggered via a non-recording camera-like device that is aimed at the northwest side of the parking lot.
