A Hazleton man and his passenger escaped serious injury on Monday, Sept. 10, when he reportedly lost the brakes on his pick up truck.

Randy L. Harker, 45, was traveling south on SR309 in Rush Township when he lost the brakes and struck a guide rail. The pickup truck overturned. Harker and his passenger were able to exit the vehicle without sustaining any injuries.The truck had to be towed from the scene.
