State House honors Jim Thorpe student

Jim Thorpe Area High School student Celeste Robinson was recognized with a citation from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, which was sponsored by and presented to her personally at the high school by State Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-122nd).

According to high school Principal Tom Lesisko, "Celeste is the top point scorer in Jim Thorpe High School's basketball history with 1,691 career points over four years, a record for both boy's and girl's basketball."Lesisko added that "besides being a great athlete, determined, and a team leader, she's a great leader in the school, and academically she's outstanding.""It's an honor to present Celeste with a citation, which is well deserved academically as well as athletically," Rep. Heffley said."Reaching and surpassing that 1,600 point mark is a phenomenal accomplishment," Heffley added. "I think that she's going to have a very bright future."In addition to her participation on the basketball team, Celeste is active at her high school as a member of Students Against Destructive Decisions, Student Council, the Spanish Club, the Olympian Leadership Council, Peer Tutoring, the Prom Committee, PODS, and the Random Acts of Kindness Club.
