Penn Medical Group, P.C., has added a new location and a physician to better serve their patients.

Penn Medical Group, P.C., which relocated last year to the former Dr. Floriel Diaz complex at 2175 Blakeslee Blvd. Drive West, Lehighton (Route 443, Mahoning Township), after 12 years at their Weissport location, has now added an office at 204 State Road, in the Union Hill area of Franklin Township, Lehighton.

The new physician is Daniel Walker D.O., who has joined the rapidly expanding practice. The practice also includes Peter Baddick B.S., B.S., D.O., MBA; Chukwudi Ogbolu, M.D.; and Sandra Pascal, D.O.

Penn Medical Group also offers an experienced clinical and administrative team, bringing patient satisfaction and a personal touch to patient experience.

Dr. Baddick had said that the practice has grown to serve several thousand patients, who visit from throughout the east coast and Canada and as far west as Pittsburgh and Salt Lake City Utah to Manhattan, NYC.

Dr. Baddick said that Penn Medical Group's philosophy has always been for the medical staff to remain updated on "cutting edge" best practice standards of care and striving to remain the most respected center of excellence for comprehensive medical care in our region.

Dr. Walker is now a member of that special team. He understands full well the complexity of surviving a serious illness, which has led him to be a compassionate, caring and understanding physician. As a child growing up in New Jersey, he underwent treatment for childhood leukemia.

"From that experience as a child, I grew up wanting to become a pediatrician," said Dr. Walker. "When it was time to act on it, I decided I really wanted to take care of everybody by becoming a family physician."

Later his mother moved to Berwick, which is where he graduated from high school. He then went to Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kirksville, Missouri; and then practiced medicine in south east Kansas until his wife, Karen, requested that the family return to their roots to the mountains in the east. The couple has a son, Ryan who is 11.

"I basically had lost my job due to the floods in the Northeast PA," he said.

Dr. Walker said that a recruiter from Blue Mountain Health System contacted him and introduced him to Dr. Baddick at Penn Medical.

"I feel compelled to be a part of this community," said Dr. Walker. "I am excited to be here and back to practicing medicine the way that I like to - by seeing both kids and adults."

Dr. Walker is a sports fan, his favorite teams are the Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys.

He and his family enjoy the company of five dogs at home, ranging in age from 16 to the youngest at age, 2.

Dr. Walker is seeing patients at Penn Medical Groups new office at 204 State Road, Lehighton (Franklin Township), the former offices of Dr. Edward Miller.
