The Tamaqua Borough Street Department will continue Spring cleaning operations this week with two additional days of operation. Streets will be posted the day before scheduled operations.

This week's schedule will include: Wednesday, starting at 7 a.m., East End Ave., Elizabeth to Laurel; Riley Ave., Market to end; Rose, Pine to Lincoln; Swatara, Jerome to iron steps; Walnut, Schuylkill Ave. to end; Locust, Schuylkill Ave. to end; and Chestnut, Schuylkill Ave. to end.Thursday's schedule, which will begin at 5 a.m., will include: south side of Broad, Maff Motors to west borough line; South Railroad, Broad to Spruce; Center, Broad to south SR309 bridge; North Railroad, Broad to north SR309 bridge; South, Bowe to Coal; East Cottage Ave., Center to Elizabeth; Water, Rowe to Elm; West Union, Nescopec to Lincoln; Columbia, East End Ave. to Mountain Ave.On Friday, also beginning at 5 a.m., the following streets will be swept: north side of Broad, Maff Motors to west borough line; Mauch Chunk, Broad to Pine; Berwick, Broad to Rowe; Nescopec, Hegarty Ave. to Cottage Ave.; Cherry, Orwigsburg to Mahanoy; South Railroad, Spruce to end; Elizabeth, East End Ave. to Mountain Ave.Drivers must remove their vehicles from posted streets and are reminded to wait until after operations are completed before moving their cars back to the cleaned streets. Vehicles that are not removed from posted streets are subject to ticketing and towing at the owner's expense.The schedule will be published periodically and operations will continue as needed.
