PV Class of 1967

The Panther Valley High School Class of 1967 is planning its 45-year class reunion on Aug. 18. Any class member who has not received the information and is interested in attending, please contact Cathy Domarecki at (570) 645-7522.Summit HillLions to meetThe Summit Hill Lions Club will meet Thursday, June 28, at 6 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church hall. Judy Midas, first vice president, will preside at the session.Lions attending are asked to bring an appetizer/food item to share. Soda and water will be provided by the club.The presentation will be made by Dr. Kenneth Vermillion, who is still president of the club even though he retired last year and he and his wife, Roxane, moved to Florida.Since his retirement, Dr. Vermillion participated in a medical mission trip to Haiti.During his presentation, the dentist will speak about the trip and work that was performed in that underprivileged country.This presentation is open to the public.Roll call of vetsWhen American Legion Post 316, Summit Hill, held its annual Memorial Day programs in Summit Hill and White Bear this past month, the memorials included the traditional Roll Call of Soldiers Dead, which is a listing of veterans who have passed away from Memorial Day 2011 until this year's services.The Roll Call included: Paul Skodacek, John Rompalo, Anthony McLaughlin, George McCartney, James Martino, Michael Stoffa, Judge Van Horn, Thomas Schlemmer, John Wapensky, Thomas Davis, Warren Cooper, Kenneth Williams, Edward Dabravalskie, Joseph Lanzos, William DeFebbo, Daniel Mundy, Robert Rausch, Alex Shereba, John Buchala, John Horvath, Fred Klementovic, Daniel Miller III, Joseph Puskar, Joseph Radocha, Nicholas Thear, William Wagner, Walter Michalick and Ernest Strohl.Legion officials note the names of Thomas R. Henninger, Benjamin J. Davis, John Graham and Thomas S. McCready were inadvertently missed from the Roll Call and offer their thanks to the late veterans who served our country and apologies to their families for having missed their names during the Roll Call.
