A Monroe County man was injured Wednesday evening after he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree in Carbon County.

State Police at Lehighton said Lech Turczynski, 58, of Polk Township, was traveling on State Route 209 about 180 feet west of Horseshoe Drive when he lost control of his 2007 Dodge Caravan at around 9:52 p.m.After losing control of the vehicle, it traveled northeast off the roadway, struck a ditch and then struck a tree head on.The severity of the injuries sustained by Turczynski were unknown. He was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.
