The Palmerton Area Democratic Club will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m., at the Fireline Hotel in Bowmanstown. The topic will be "Our New Year Message to the President Refocusing the Democratic Agenda."

"With the media's obsession with covering the contest for the Republican presidential nomination, we hear little talk of the tangible accomplishments of the Obama presidency that impact 99 percent of Americans, so we will do a brief review," said club President Sarina Berlow. "Those attending are also asked to come prepared to discuss what you would like the message of the Democratic Party to be in 2012."The area covered by the club includes Palmerton, Bowmanstown, Towamensing Township and Lower Towamensing Township. Meetings are monthly, the second Tuesday of the month, September to May, at 7 p.m. at the Fireline Hotel. Annual dues are $1 per year, due Jan. 1.
