Is there a prom in your future? How about a wedding?

Do you have a formal occasion coming up, or are you playing a diva in an upcoming theatrical production?Maybe you're looking for an inexpensive costume for Halloween?Well, have we got a deal for you!The fourth annual Prom and Wedding Dress Sale will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29 at Penn's Peak on Maury Road in Penn Forest Township.Close to 600 dresses will line the second floor of the entertainment center, and include hundreds of prom dresses and over 50 wedding dresses, many of which still have the original tags on them. Prices for prom gowns will start at $10, while wedding gown prices will start at $50There are also quite a few vintage-style dresses that may be suitable for costumes, either theatrical or Halloween, or maybe a special dress-up outfit for your favorite little princess. These dresses will start at just $5 each.In addition to hundreds of dresses and gowns, there is a selection of shoes and purses from which to choose that special accessory."We got so many nice dresses in this year," says Julianne Farina, marketing and public relations coordinator for Blue Ridge Communications, and an organizer of the annual prom gown and dress sale. "I was shocked by how nice the dresses are. There are brand new dresses, too, and quite a few with the price tags on them and in mint condition."All proceeds from the Prom and Wedding Dress Sale will benefit Dream Come True, Blue Ridge Chapter. Last year's event raised $2,000; while the year before, over $3,000 went to help fulfill the dreams of children who are seriously, chronically or terminally ill. Farina is hoping this year will be a banner year, and that the sale will realize at least $4,000."We would like to beat the amount we raised the year before," she adds.Farina says that although the deadline for donating dresses has officially passed, she will continue to accept dresses dropped off at any of the Blue Ridge Cable offices in Lehighton, Lansford, Gilbert, Stroudsburg, Walnutport and at the Pencor Superstore in Palmerton."I want to say 'thank you' to everyone who helped with this great project," says Farina. "This year we have just seen an influx of dresses. Everyday I have piles of dresses being dropped off in my office."Those looking to purchase a dress are reminded that all sales will be cash only.
