Summit Hill woman charged

A Summit Hill woman has been charged with calling in a fake prescription to a pharmacy.

Nesquehoning Police Chief Sean T. Smith has charged Judith Karin Sabol, 35, of 113 S. Oak St., with one count of criminal attempt-acquisition or obtaining of possession of a controlled substance by misrepresentation (felony), and two counts of identity theft.According to Smith on Jan. 8 at 1:08 p.m. the CVS pharmacy, at 20 E. Locust St., received a call from a female identifying herself as a nurse for an area doctor. She said she was calling in a prescription for Sabol for the drug Fioricet. The pharmacist, Chris Reiber, became suspicious of the call and called the doctor's office in question and spoke with a nurse. The nurse confirmed that Sabol was a patient of the doctor, but that there was no prescription for Fioricet authorized by the doctor for Sabol.Sabol appeared at the pharmacy later that day to pick up the prescription but was told it was not ready as the pharmacist had to speak with the doctor.Sabol then asked that she be called when it was ready and gave her cell phone number. On Jan. 9 Sabol appeared at the borough police station at the request of Smith. After being given her Miranda warnings, Sabol agreed to speak with Smith. She admitted calling the CVS pharmacy claiming she was a nurse from the doctor's office calling in a prescription for Fioricet with codeine for herself.Sabol was arraigned before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek, of Lansford, and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
