Mary Ellen and Emmett McCall of Lansford celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 12.

They were married in the former St. Michael's Catholic Church, Lansford, by the late Rev. Thomas Edwards, cousin of the bridegroom. The late Monsignor Joseph Baron, pastor, was the Mass celebrant.Mrs. McCall is the daughter of the late George and Helen Sniscak of Lansford. Her husband is the son of the late Patrick and Helen McCall of Mahoning Valley.The couple has five sons: Emmett of Lehighton; Patrick and his wife Ginny of Lake Hauto; Michael of Summit Hill; Terry of Lansford; and Connell, who is deceased.They also have six grandchildren: Amanda, P.J., Riley, Madison, Avery and Darby.Mary Ellen is retired from the TIMES NEWS Lansford office. Emmett is the recorder of deeds for Carbon County, and works at the courthouse in Jim Thorpe.The McCalls celebrated by enjoying a trip to Notre Dame and were also the guests of honor at a dinner at Macaluso's at The Lantern, all compliments of their children.
