Clear View Acres, South Tamaqua, wants homeowners to think vinyl.

"Don't paint - go vinyl" is the motto of the business, which has set up a display to showcase its product at the corner of Route 443 and Clear View Crossing in West Penn Township, one-tenth of a mile from the Route 309 intersection.

A grand opening and ribbon cutting was held at the display location on Saturday, May 22.

Linda Yulanavage, executive director of the Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the new business to the community.

Larry and Karen Moyer, owners of Clear View Acres, also own Blue Mountain Builders. They have been a local dealer for Superior Plastics, Inc., New Holland, Pa., for over 10 years. Previously, the Moyers operated the dealership aspect of the busienss from their residence.

"Superior Plastics is a company that has Amish roots," explained Larry Moyer.

Clear View Acres offers vinyl porch posts and railings, fencing, maintenance free decks, storage sheds and patio furniture for a variety of uses.

"The product is superior to the big box stores like Lowe's but it's competitively priced," related Larry. "These are quality products, and you get what you pay for."

"People don't want to paint anymore," said Karen. "Times have changed. We are putting a product out there that is maintenance free. It's a lifetime of enjoyment."

Since their own Blue Mountain Builders, the Moyers also offer installation of their products, but they also sell them at retail, for the do-it-yourselfers who might want to install it themselves.

"Everything is backed by a lifetime guarantee," noted Larry.
