Lyndon Eickoff, 35, of West School Street, Summit Hill, is charged with driving under the influence (DUI) following an accident in Mahoning Township.

According to township police, the accident occurred shortly before 11:30 p.m. on July 3 in the 1400 block of Mahoning Drive East (SR902).Police said they had received a report of a demolished vehicle in the middle of the roadway and a utility pole struck and damaged. The investigating officer, upon arriving at the scene, noticed no driver or passengers were present.Chief of Police Kenneth Barnes said evidence at the scene indicated someone was injured and that alcohol played a factor in the accident. As the officer was conducting an investigation at the scene he was notified of a male staggering on Hemlock Drive and was covered in blood.Officers responded and took Eickoff into custody. He was identified as the driver in the accident.Police said Eickoff was taken to a hospital and treated for minor injury. Blood was drawn to determine his exact BAC. He is being charged with DUI and related offenses.
