Wanted Schuylkill resident nabbed

A Schuylkill County man wanted on several criminal charges was apprehended over the weekend.

State police at Frackville said Dennis Bennett, 45, of Gilberton, was observed by troopers while on patrol in the area of 132 Long Row Rd., in Gilberton, about 12:10 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16. He was known to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest and he was taken into custody. He was wanted by the state police vice unit at the Reading barracks.Charges pending against Bennett include dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities, criminal use of communication facility, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, corrupt organizations, conspiracy with intent to deliver, all felonies; and misdemeanor counts of criminal conspiracy and possession.He was arraigned before duty District Judge James Reilly, of Pottsville, and committed to the county prison in lieu of $75,000 straight cash bail.
