State police at the Lehighton barracks report that charges of driving under the influence of alcohol are pending against John William Havassy, 59, of Bath, as a result of an incident at 9;30 p.m. dec. 25.

Police said he was driving in the area of Kunkletown Road and Birch Lane in Eldred Township, Monroe County, when he failed to yield to emergency lights and a siren for about two miles.He was stopped and found to be under the influence of alcohol.Police said he was transported to the police barracks, where he submitted to a breath test to determine his blood-alcohol level.
