Speed was blamed for a one vehicle crash that occurred about 5:35 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 28, along Fearnot Road, in Hubley Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Sandra L. Bedleyoung, 52, of Valley View, was driving a 1997 Subaru Imprezza eastbound at an apparent high rate of speed when she failed to negotiate a sharp right curve at the intersection wtih Maple St. The car went straight at the curve, going down an embankment and into a nearby shallow creek, striking the steep embankment on the opposite side fo the creek.Bedleyoung was injured and taken to the Hershey Medical Center for treatment of what troopers said was a moderate injury. Troopers said she will be cited.
