State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a vandalism incident at a Schuylkill County church.

Troopers said unknown persons pushed over a marble tombstone on the property of Manbeck's Evangelical Congregational Church, in Washington Township. The tombstone, valued at $3,000, sustained damages, troopers added.

The incident occurred sometime between March 9-11.

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a traffic stop.

State police at Frackville said Joshua McCormick, 29, of Ashland, was stopped about 2:10 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, in the 100 block of N. White St., Shenandoah, for traffic violations.

He was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He will be charged with DUI, troopers said.

State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating a one vehicle crash about 4:10 a.m. on Monday, March 14, along Old Stage Road in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said Son K. Ripoli, 49, of Albrightsville, was driving a 2010 Hyundai Elantra southbound when the vehicle crossed the northbound lane and went onto the berm where it struck a mailbox and then a tree stump.

Ripoli sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention, troopers said.

Two persons were charged as a result of a domestic dispute.

State police at Frackville said troopers were called to 7 W. Ogden St., Girardville, on Friday, March 11, about 10:50 a.m. for a reported domestic dispute between girlfriend and boyfriend.

As a result of an investigation troopers said Anita C. Bakerofskie, 43, and Richard Scott Carver, 39, who resides at that address and also lists an address in Colonial Beach, Va., were cited for harassment.

Troopers said the two engaged in an argument that resulted in both assaulting each other.

State police at Fern Ridge reported on two incidents in which a Carbon County business was the victim of a fraudulent credit card.

Troopers said Skirmish USA, in Albrightsville, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, reported a suspect used a fraudulent credit card to make several purchases at the business on Nov. 7, 2010, and Jan. 24.

In each case the suspect was described as a black female, age 25, five-feet, eight-inches tall and weighing 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

State police at Lehighton reported two driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers.

On Saturday, March 11, about 12:30 p.m. troopers stopped Daniel Burdick, 51, of Effort, along Burger Hollow Road, near Polk Township Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County, for a vehicle code violation. Burdick was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest. Charges will be filed, troopers said.

A Monroe County resident is facing a drug possession charge.

State police at Lehighton said Jason Donald Frey, of Effort, was found to have in his possession two prescription pills which he did not have a prescription for. The incident occurred in the parking lot of the Turkey Hill store along SR209, in Polk Township, about 12:43 p.m. on March 10. The drug charge is pending, troopers added.

The theft of a registration plate and acts of criminal mischief were reported by state police at Fern Ridge.

Troopers said the registration plate on the 2005 Dodge Dakota pickup truck of Robert Cora, was taken while it was parked at 42 Blue Ridge Drive, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. The plate was taken sometime between 5:30 and 10:30 p.m. on March 7.

A Schuylkill County woman is facing several criminal charges.

State police at Frackville said Robert David Boden, 45, of Chester Springs, is the owner of a apartment building at 19 Main St., Middleport. On Friday, March 11, Boden went to the property and discovered the basement sump pump and various copper pipes, which were stored in the basement, were now in the apartment of Karen Rosemarie Boris, 47. The items were found in the apartment as Boden conducted maintenance on the building. The items were previously reported stolen, troopers said, on March 8.
