Murphy Bennett , a Tamaqua Area High School graduate, attained another 4.0 grade point average to make the Dean's List at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Bennett is a sophomore enrolled in the Deaf Education program She is also the secretary of the IUP Rugby Club, co-president of Sign-In, a sign language club that preforms to music, and a member of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor society.

Murphy is the daughter of Rick and Debbie Bennett of Tamaqua.

Thaddeus Pitts, a 2008 graduate of Palmerton High School, was named to dean's list at Saint Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. for the fall semester.

He is a sophomore and is double majoring in math and economics. He is also a wide receiver for the St. Lawrence University Saints football team and was named to the 2009 Liberty League All Academic Team.

Pitts is the son of Theodore and MaryAnn Pitts of Lehighton, and the grandson of Edward and Dorothy Kimak of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and John and Helen McKeever of Danielsville.

Chelsea Knipper, daughter of Randee Knipper of Coaldale and the late Jack Knipper, has been named to the Dean's List for the Fall semester at Penn State University's Main Campus.The 2008 graduate of Panther Valley High School is majoring in Physics.

Patrick Matsinko of Lehighton has been named to the dean's list at Kutztown University for the fall 2009 semester.

Matsinko is a senior and will graduate this spring with a degree in general studies/history.

He is a member of the university's cycling team and currently serves as vice president.

A 2005 graduate of Lehighton Area High School, Matsinko is the son of David and Helene Matsinko.

Stadnik

Jenette Stadnik, daughter of Mitchell and Denise Stadnik, Weatherly, has been named Senior of the Month for December at Weatherly Area High School.

Jenette is the vice president of the senior class. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Interact Club. She also participates in the Science Olympiad and Envirothon.

Jessica Smith, daughter of David and Cindy Smith of Lehighton, has been named to the dean's list at Pennsylvania State University, Main Campus, for the fall semester. This is her sixth consecutive semester being named to the dean's list.

Jessica is in her senior year and is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in human development and family studies. For the spring semester, she will be interning at Child and Adolescent Service System Program in Allentown.

Kerri Hegarty, daughter of Sean and Marian Hegarty of Tamaqua, has been named to the Dean's List for the Fall semester at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. A 2009 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, the freshman student is pursuing a career in the deaf education field.

Brandon White of Lansford attained dean's list at King's College. His GPA for the fall semester of his first year was 3.859.

Brandon is studying accounting. He is a 2009 graduate of Marian Catholic High School.

He is the son of Jenn McMichael, the grandson of Bill and Mary McMicheal of Hauto; and the stepson of Michelle R. Schaeffer of Weatherly.

Ashley Valentine, daughter of Beth Englert of Tamaqua, has been named to the Dean's List for the Fall semester at Penn State University's Schuyl-kill Campus. She earned a 3.62 grade point average while pursuing a degree in the Nursing field.

Jodi L. Kamant, a 2005 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, recently graduated from Kutztown University on Dec. 19, 2009.

She student taught the fall semester in the Hamburg and Schuylkill Haven Area School Districts and attained a 4.0 GPA.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education with a concentration in psychology.

She graduated with high honors (magna cum laude).

She is the is the daughter of Deborah Kamant and Michael Hartz of Tamaqua.
