Treating depression or anxiety isn't always about taking medication or seeing a therapist.

In some cases, taking care of your body can be just as important as addressing your mental health.

This was the message that Blue Mountain Health System and Jim Thorpe Yoga shared during a recent program on yoga and mental health at the Jim Thorpe Yoga studio on Center Street in Jim Thorpe.

Blue Mountain Health System Women's Cancer Support Group will meet in the community room at the Gnaden Huetten campus of the Blue Mountain Health System, 211 N. 12th St., Lehighton, at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18.

They will not meet in February if there is inclement weather.

The meeting is geared for women who have been diagnosed with cancer sometime in their lives.

The Dress Sale will take place from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 2 at Penn's Peak.

All proceeds will benefit Dream Come True, Blue Ridge Chapter.

Blue Mountain Health System will offer a free workshop on Art Therapy: Creating a New Outlet at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the Bowmanstown Medical Plaza, 204 Bank St., Bowmanstown.

Art therapy is a creative process that motivates people to engage in the process of making art. When words fail, art therapy encourages people to express feelings and emotions through non-verbal outlets. It is based on the belief that the creative process is used to help people resolve conflicts and problems, develop interpersonal skills, manage behaviors and achieve insight.

Ten members of the Marian Catholic High School Band were selected to perform in the 40th Annual Diocesan Music Festival at Allentown Central Catholic High School. The festival was held Feb. 1. The band included 66 musicians from the seven high schools of the Diocese of Allentown and was under the direction of Dr. Ronald Demkee. Marian senior Kelsey Hurst was presented the Ralph Brodt Jr. Award in recognition of accomplishments in leadership, school and community involvement, and service.

Lehigh Gap Nature Center is hosting its inaugural Nature in Photographs show at the nature center's Osprey House from March 21 to April 5.

Amateur nature photographers from throughout the region are encouraged to participate. The photographs may be from anywhere on the planet, but must be actual photographs, not computer generated images or collages.

There will be three categories: Wildlife, Scenic, and Macro. Wildlife includes both plants and animals of any kind.
