The 25th annual TIMES NEWS Cookbook and Recipe Contest is in full swing.

Categories are Main Dish; Desserts; Salads & Side Dishes; Slow Cooker; Money Saving Meals; Salad Dressings, Sauces and Marinades; and Celebrations.

The winner in each category will receive a $50 grocery store gift card and a $50 restaurant gift card.

Every entrant will receive a large grocery store tote bag; and every 25th entrant will received a $25 restaurant gift card.

The grand prize winner will receive an additional $250 grocery store gift card.

Join Autumn Jordon to learn more about writing romances at the next meeting of the Black Diamond Writers' Network.

The meeting will run from 10 a.m. to noon tomorrow at the Tamaqua Public Library, 30 S. Railroad St., Tamaqua.

The meeting will be followed by a brief critique session for those interested in sharing some of their work or a roundtable discussion. The meeting is free and open to the public.

MapleShade Assisted Living Center in Nesquehoning held a Valentine's Day party a day late with vocalist Eric Kearns "Voices of Legends" entertaining the group.

Picked as Valentine's Day King and Queen were Joe Mifkovich and Pauline Groff.

Each received a bag of candy and a lot of congratulatory wishes.

TERRY AHNER/TIMES NEWS Bill Burkhardt, 83, of Albrightsville, and Frances Vargo, 85, of Lehighton, were chosen as King and Queen of Hearts at the eighth annual Valentine's Day Party Tuesday at Blue Mountain Health System's Adult Day Services Center in Palmerton.

That's what it must have felt like for Bill Burkhardt and Frances Vargo on Valentine's Day after being chosen by their peers as King and Queen of Hearts.

That dynamic duo's majestic moment took place at the eighth annual Valentine's Day Party at Blue Mountain Health System's Adult Day Services Center in Palmerton.

Roxanne Downs, director of Adult Day Services, said the selection process was simple: a picture of each of the client's were posted on the wall to be chosen by their peers.

Wedding pictures and stories will be published free up to six months after the wedding. After the deadline, there is a $50 charge to have your wedding appear in the TIMES NEWS.

Blue Mountain Health System Women's Cancer Support Group will meet from 3:30-5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21 at Gnaden Huetten Campus, 211 N. 12th Street, Lehighton, community room.

The group is aimed for women with cancer-related issues to meet in a casual atmosphere to gain personal support.

Josephine Sanders Bock, 90, and Emmett Bock, 95, are still sweethearts after almost 70 years of marriage (their anniversary is April 24). They are currently residents at Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Home in Kunkletown, but formerly resided in Bowmanstown. They have three daughters, Nancy, Mary Jane and Barbara, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. They met at a Lehighton Country Club dance while Josephine was still in school. Josephine worked as a secretary in her father's factory and Emmett worked in old computer management. They were crowned King and Queen of Hearts at Mrs.

The Panther Valley Senior Center in Nesquehoning crowned its Valentine's Day King and Queen at a party attended by 62 people from Nesquehoning and Jim Thorpe. Everyone enjoyed a sing-a-long and other musical entertainment. The 2012 King was Mike Hudicka and the Queen was Marie Jane Derkosh.
