Kade David Levan

LEVAN A son, Kade David Levan, was born to Terry and Melissa (Herman) Levan of Jim Thorpe on Oct. 16, 2010, at St. Luke's Allentown. He weighed 6.6 pounds, and measured 19 inches long.

Kade was welcomed home by his two older siblings, Kearsen, 17; and Kevan, 12.

Maternal grandparents are David and Elaine Herman of Anderson, S.C.

Paternal grandparents are George and Myrna Levan of Muncy Valley, Sullivan County.

NEW CASTLE, Pa. (AP) – A western Pennsylvania man had more than a twinkle in his eye when he proposed marriage.

Twenty-four-year-old Michael Busin's proposal itself was twinkling. That's because his proposal was written out in a string of Christmas lights that his girlfriend was invited to turn on Friday night, as part of a display Busin and his father erected at their home in Neshannock Township, about 45 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.

The lights said, "Lina Will You Marry Me?"

Twenty-one-year-old Lina Sansone said yes.

Alex Michael Collevechio

COLLEVECHIO A son, Alex Michael Collevechio, was born on Sept. 12, 2010 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley to Melissa and Aaron Collevechio of Drums.

He weighed 5 pounds, 14 ounces, and measured 17.5 inches long.

The new baby was welcomed home by his big brother Aaron (A.J.), 3.

Maternal grandparents are Larry and Maryann Thompson of Keylayres.

Paternal grandparents are Jacqueline Collevechio of Summit Hill, and the late Fred Collevechio.

The Bach and Handel Chorale will bring angelic voices and Christmas music at a special holiday concert at The Angela Triplex Theatre, 133 E. Phillip St., Coaldale. The event begins 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12.

Founded in 1984, The Bach and Handel Chorale has performed many holiday performances for audiences in and around Carbon County.

Janiel Pfaff, daughter of Mark and Mary Jean Pfaff of Tannersville, became the bride of John Spisak, son of Vince and Fran Spisak of Lansford on July 17, 2010 at St. Catherine's Cathedral in Allentown. The Rev. Monsignor Andrew Baker officiated the ceremony.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride chose her sister, Justine Pfaff of West Chester, Pa. as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Shilpa Jadhav, Piscataway, N.J.; Jen Ketz, Bridgeport, Pa.; Caryn Shields, Culpeper, Va.; Anne Smith, Macungie; and Lindsay Weiss, Bethlehem. Lucy Greco of Lansford was the flower girl.

Tracy Marie Smudin, daughter of Shirley and Gary Smudin of Quakake, and Damien Patrick Earhart, son of Donna Davis of St. Clair, were united in marriage on Oct. 16, 2010 at Christ Lutheran Church in Barnesville by the Rev. Robert Adams.

Bridesmaids included Jamie Beidleman, Clamtown; Jennifer Knadler, Hometown; and Cortney Zimmerman, Tamaqua. The flower girl was Shelby Beidleman of Clamtown.

Best man duties were performed by Christopher Casse of Reading. Groomsmen included Eric Knadler, Tamaqua, and Kory Beidleman, Clamtown.

For the ninth consecutive year, the Jim Thorpe parishes of Ebenezer Evangelical, St. John's Lutheran In-The Heights, and St. Joseph's Catholic Church will stage a Live Nativity at Sam Miller's Field on North Avenue in the heights section of Jim Thorpe in conjunction with the first weekend of Olde Time Christmas in Jim Thorpe. The theme of Olde Time Christmas this year is "Light the Way."

The Live Nativity, which will take place on Friday, Dec. 3 and Saturday, Dec. 4, from 7-9 p.m., is under the direction of Sharon Hontz, who is assisted by Jean Dunbar.
