The gloves are off. And what will you see on those hands that have been hibernating during the winter? Probably some brittle nails and dry skin.

A heavy-duty moisturizer and bold, cheerful nail polish should be able to take care of any unpleasantries. Then throw in some spring trends – purples, oranges and greens to accompany warm-weather wardrobes, as well as some new neutrals that might surprise you.

"The day of the nude or pink nail is over and we're seeing a new revolution in color," says Nancy Rappaport, director of product development for Sephora Collection.

Easy to make and fun to do with your kids, this colorful no-bake Easter treat also is a good way to use up all that Easter candy. Candy coating chocolates can be found at most craft stores in the candy and cake decorating aisle, as well as in the baking aisle of most grocers.

You can get a variety of colors, including pastels and white, as well as milk and dark chocolates; mix and match as desired.

Spring blooms in this Easter Tiramisu, a variation of the classic Italian layered dessert. (AP Photo/Larry Crowe)

Most people are familiar with the classic tiramisu, an Italian espresso-mascarpone layered dessert. This version borrows the concept of a layered mascarpone cream and ladyfinger dessert, but adapts it with spring and Easter in mind.

If lemon and raspberry aren't your thing, you can substitute another berry combination, including blueberries, sliced strawberries, orange segments or mango.

I love eggs. Whether they're hard-boiled, poached, scrambled, or sunny-side up, I would willingly eat eggs every day. (I don't eat eggs every day, of course. But I would if I could!) Needless to say, Easter is one of my favorite holidays. It's time for spring, chocolate Easter bunnies and hard-boiled eggs.
