Human trafficking discussion planned

The Monroe County Women's Commission is partnering with the Women's Studies Department and Professor Andi McClanahan, to bring information about human trafficking to everyone living in the area.

Human trafficking occurs everywhere, often hiding in plain sight. As women are most vulnerable, a movie on the subject titled "A Path Appears" will be shown as part of Women's History Month. The movie will be presented at 7 p.m. Thursday,at Stroud Hall room 113.After the movie, a discussion and information session will be led by Detective Kim Lippincott, a local specialist on this topic.Pennsylvania ranks 14th in the country in number of trafficking crimes; and Monroe County, with its proximity to the metropolitan area, is heavily involved. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend this free event.
