Man who threatened girlfriend's death escapes work-release

WEST EASTON, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a man who threatened to kill his girlfriend escaped from a work-release program about 50 miles north of Philadelphia.

Police in Norristown say 25-year-old Aaron Creekmore escaped a work-release facility in West Easton on Monday. The program is run by the Northampton County Department of Corrections.Police say Creekmore previously threatened to kill his Norristown girlfriend.The (Easton) Express-Times reports he was arrested last month in Montgomery County on simple assault and harassment charges after authorities say he choked his girlfriend, who is the mother of his children.Creekmore was serving a six-month sentence for civil contempt in a domestic-relations case.It wasn't immediately known if the Montgomery County charges led to the civil-contempt charge in Northampton County.
