Hometown Turkey Hill has gas line problem

Concerns are coming up over the gas type in the fuel lines at Hometown's Turkey Hill Mini Mart at 205 Claremont Ave.

At least 10 vehicles that pumped fuel from Turkey Hill have reportedly broken down this morning due to the lines containing suspected diesel fuel instead of regular gas, though the Turkey Hill corporate office has not yet confirmed the exact cause.

"I was there at about 7:40 a.m.," Hometown resident Laura Kennedy said. "I have not, yet, talked to Turkey Hill, but by the time Hope's (Collision and 24-Hour Towing) picked me up at 8:15, I was the fourth car with the same issue they towed. When I called Cal's (Car Care) at 8:15 to let them know I was taking my car there, and when I told them what the problem was they asked, 'Did you get gas at Turkey Hill at Hometown this morning?'

"When I said I did, they told me I was the third person to call with the same issue."

Hope's Collision and 24-Hour Towing in Tamaqua reported that they have towed five vehicles with the same problem.

While Turkey Hill Public Relations Manager Kim Hertzog was unable to offer any details at the moment, she did mention that she had received a message from the company's fuel director.

Turkey Hill Minit Mart's corporate phone number is 1-800-576-4377.

Additional information regarding the developing story will be published as it becomes available.
