Jeep rolls over numerous times, driver and passenger injured

A 1999 Jeep Cherokee rolled over numerous times when it crashed on Interstate 81 in Kline Township after the driver fell asleep while the vehicle was northbound.

Injured were Rodney A. Williamson, 26, of Bladensburg, Maryland, the driver, and passenger Casaundra Bouldin, 25, of Bowiw, Maryland, according to state police at Frackville.Police said both of them had been seatbelted in the vehicle and managed to climb out of it after the crash. Williamson was transported by MedEvac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, while Bouldin was taken there in the Ryan Township ambulance.Police said after Williamson fell asleep, the vehicle drifted off the left side of the roadway, struck a ditch and climbed partially up a rocky roadside embankment. It then rolled over numerous times, sheering the front axle off the vehicle before coming to rest on its roof, straddling the northbound shoulder and passing lane while facing east.Police said the vehicle was "completely destroyed" and was towed from the scene.Williamson was cited in the crash.
