Emergency crew members honored

Each year each of the fire companies and the Lake Harmony Rescue Squad nominate one of its members to be Kidder Township Emergency Person of the Year.

This year, Lt. Bill "Wild Bill" Thomas took home the honor for Lake Harmony.Thomas has been with Lake Harmony since 2011 and serves as an engineer.Thomas oversees and repairs and maintains all of the equipment. He has also been instrumental in restoring and refurbishing used equipment.Kidder Volunteer Fire Company nominated its chief, John Devine.Devine was hailed by his company for his ability to recruit and train new volunteers. He is a senior EMT with the Lake Harmony Rescue Squad as well and has been involved in fire service as a professional for over 18 years.Albrightsville Volunteer Fire Company nominated Charles "C.J." McFeeley for the second year in a row.McFeeley is 18 years old and has been a firefighter for four years. He is an assistant engineer and the vice president of the fire company.All three of the nominated firefighters have been instrumental in fighting fires and helping to assure the safety of the residents of Kidder Township.
