Mahoning Lions Club pavilion gets face-lift

Lehighton's Lowe's recently helped a local organization through its Heroes Community Project.

The store chose Mahoning Township Lions Club as this year's recipient. Lowe's staff pledged $2,500 worth of materials and volunteers provided the labor to renovate the club's pavilion, which is used by many for community events. The project included painting the structure, installing new doors as well as screening to a brand-new kitchen with new appliances; and planting about 40 small trees along the property line."We were very excited and happy to be chosen as this years recipient and are very great full for all of there hard work," said Tom Zimmerman IV, a president of the Lions Club.The Mahoning Township Lions Club presented Lowe's staff with a plaque to thank them for the support.
